Hi everyone! Thanks to the overwhelming response to our moving sale!! I think I’ve replied to all of the emails, so if you didn’t get a response, feel free to send me another message 🙂
I also got a few questions on why we’re selling so many things. We get a limited amount of weight covered in the move, and anything over we pay for. So we’d prefer to sell a lot here and then use that as a furniture budget when we move 🙂

Just wanted to stop in quickly to share a little moving update! We were originally leaving end of August, but that got pushed to the end of September (officially this week).
End of September, we’ll be packing up our car and driving to Ohio. We’re trading the Pacific ocean for lake Erie … I’m not going to lie, not too excited … no offense at all to anyone who lives in Ohio, I’ve never been, but I think it’s almost impossible to beat the 70 degree mostly sunny year round weather on the Central Ca coast. We’ve been so blessed to have the chance to live at the ocean. BUT we will be a lot closer to most of our family and a lot of friends on the east coast, so that makes it worth it!!!
Why Ohio? We’re moving for David’s work (more on that here) and we’ll be there through April. After that we’ll be moving again … I think I know where, but it could change, so I’ll hold off on saying it until it’s for sure (don’t want to jinx myself 🙂
We don’t know where we’ll be living yet, so hopefully we’ll find something great! Anyone looking for an interior designer and a can do anything guy to fix up a rental in northern Ohio?
Since we’re only going to be there about 7 months, I’ll be including more super budget friendly, temporary easy to take down projects. I’ve been brainstorming 🙂

YAY! I just moved to Columbus from Denver – and trust me, the grey days will get to you – but we Ohioans aren't so bad. And it sounds temporary for you, so there's always a "light" at the end of the tunnel. Super excited to have you in the same state! Whit @Whit's Amuse Bouche
Sarah says
Hi Whitney! Yay! Good to know that there will be a friendly face nearby 🙂
Cassie @ Primitive & Proper says
too bad you aren't going to be there earlier- i am going to OH in September for the country living fair!!! and i think columbus is a really cool city.
Sarah says
too bad!! I'll be MD more often, so I'm sure we'll be thrifting together soon! 🙂

Welcome to Ohio! You'll be a little far from Columbus (the most awesome city in the state) but OH is pretty awesome. I lived in LA for five years and while we don't have the ocean, we do have a much more budget friendly cost of living!
Sarah says
Good to know that you love OH! I've never been 🙂 We'll be near Cedar Point, so a few hours away, but we'll have to check Columbus out!

You are braver than me to move across country away from family in the first place.
Sarah says
Face time helps – only a click away, but we do miss them lots! It will be great to be closer! 🙂

Are you moving to Cleveland? I'm in the suburbs and have lived near here all my life. I can give you advice on food, shops, and cities. Good luck!
Sarah says
Hi Ashley! We're moving near Cedar Point, but I'm sure we'll go to Cleveland too, any advice would be great! 🙂
Ashley Sliffe says
If you move before Halloween, check out cedar points hallo weekend! It's fun my husband loves it. Cleveland is about an hour away from cedar point area, but there is good shopping, food, and entertainment (other than cow tipping 🙂 ). Lake Erie isn't nearly as beautiful as ocean, but its always fun to take the dog too! Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi! We moved from sunny So. Cal. 3 years ago, to Michigan – your friendly neighbor. Feb-April can get a little long and grey, but you just have to remember to take vit.D to keep you sane. Also, the landscape is beautiful, lush and green, def. something we don't get in Cali. ALso, as my 9 year old daughter put it a few months after we arrived "Mom! There's nature everywhere here!" Between the beautiful blue shy, deer in the backyard, migrating geese, horses and all sorts of wildlife, it is just wonderful.

Looking forward to new adventures! I lived outside of Chicago when I was young, so I'm kinda familiar with the gray winters. Maybe we'll take a vacation to the Caribbean then 🙂

I am a fellow transplant to Ohio after living on the gulf coast my whole life. My guess is you are moving to Toledo, there is a new Ford plant that is being built around there. Plus you get Put-In-bay which is fun and the outdoor activities though different from CA are still great.
Sarah says
Hi Kathryn! Very close – We're moving near Cedar Point. Excited for new adventures!! 🙂

Ok, I finally read why you all are moving! While I know it will be hard for you to move, it's exciting! Glad you'll be closer to family and I really look forward to see what you'll be living in and sprucing up next! I'm sure it will be lovely! If you are driving and make your way through Kansas City, MO, feel free to stop for a break, Sarah!

We love getting the chance to live in different places! and I'm excited for something new – hopefully we'll find a great place to live 🙂 I think we're planning to take the more northern route (through yellowstone, mount rushmore, etc.) but that could change .. I'd love to meet you! 🙂

HI Sarah,
Completely new to your blog. Love your style. I saw your moving sale and am wondering if you are selling the ombre frames? Good luck on your move. If you are moving near Chagrin Falls in Ohio. Go check it out. A great little town to walk around. Beautiful homes.
Sarah says
Thanks so much Suezi! The ombre frames are $80 + shipping, let me know if you're interested 🙂

Sarah,
Super excited your moving out here !!!! I am in dire need of an interior designer and just haven't found "the one." Sandusky is a great place. Don't let people fool you. Ohio is warm and welcoming and you will fall in love with the people.
I am in toledo, less than an hour drive. Please let me know if you are available for a consultation!
Jaclyn.
