Kitchen Reveal | Appliances with Samsung and The Home Depot

This post is sponsored by The Home Depot.

I am so excited to share with you our kitchen reveal with The Home Depot today – the full reveal will be on The Home Depot’s blog, The Apron (stay tuned for that link!) Today, I’m focusing on one of my favorite parts – the appliances from Samsung!

This space has come a long way – I used to hate being in here because it was dark, cramped, and the appliances barely worked. Now, I love it! I’m actually typing this post from the island now!
Delivery was easy and the appliances were delivered right to our kitchen!
After years in rentals, we’ve seen our share of appliances and these are by far the nicest appliances that we’ve ever used!
We went with the black stainless line by Samsung. I love the contrast with the white cabinets and how it ties in with the pulls and lighting (all from The Home Depot)

First up, the dishwasher. We love the clean front (all controls are on the top!) and that it is whisper quiet. You can easily run it while you’re in the space and not even know that it is on! David has asked me several times if it is running. Yes, it’s that quiet!

We also love the top rack – perfect for large flat utensils and lids!

We decided to go with a built in oven with a cooktop above for a custom look. I love the minimal look – the display is touch screen. This is also my first oven with a convection bake feature and it’s pretty neat! It takes half the time cooking at the same temperature! It also has regular bake, roast, broil and a steam feature that I’m looking forward to trying out. The controls are intuitive and easy to use. All shelves are adjustable so that you can accommodate different heights. Lastly, the shelves are sturdy and roll out easily – the middle is actually on ball bearings – perfect for heavy dishes so you don’t have to worry about yanking the shelf and spilling.
The cooktop is sleek and has 5 burners – two adjust to small or large based on the pot size.  It heats up fast, evenly and is easy to use. We also love the exhaust hood – it has multiple settings and it’s very quiet! With other exhaust hoods, I wouldn’t use the vent because it was so loud, but this one is so quiet – I turn it on almost every time that I cook.

For the microwave – we decided to install a standard size microwave in the island with a trim kit to give it a custom, built in look. I really wanted floor ceiling cabinets next to the refrigerator – putting the microwave in the island allowed us to do that.

For the refrigerator/freezer, we went with a side by side, counter depth with recessed handles. The refrigerator has two options for opening the door – the food showcase allows you to just open the front section to access items in the door. This prevents cold air from escaping – which saves money!
Our number one must have (next to working well!) before selecting appliances was that they were quiet. After using them for several weeks, they most definitely are! You barely hear anything while they are running!
We love our new kitchen! A large part of that is the appliances – they work well, are super quiet and the clean, modern lines seamlessly blend into our kitchen.
Be sure to stay tuned for the full reveal on The Home Depot’s blog, The Apron!

Thanks for the article. Quick question though, What are your thoughts on granite for a kitchen remodel? I’m planning on doing a remodel later this year but I don’t want to spend too much money. Thanks for the post, and I look forward to seeing your reply.
