Hi! Just wanted to share a quick update of our house progress this weekend! I’m trying to share real time progress – so hopefully that’s ok instead of full room reveals π
David’s parents helped us Saturday, so that was a big help! We worked on painting trim .. taping up the windows and prepping took forever – so having help was so so nice!
We also worked on the electrical this weekend. David’s dad has worked in the electrical field for around 40 years – so he helps often with our house. They worked on updating boxes (both safety and aesthetic issues), figuring out the crazy switching in our house, and swapping our almond outlets for white outlets.
The other night, on a whim, we decided to order parts to make our own sconces. Yesterday, David wired them and installed them. They were very simple to make – I love how they turned out!!
Our dining room came with three electrical outlets – about 6′ off of the ground (see photo below). We think they originally had sconces there and replaced with outlets (with a decorative plate over to hide it) at some point (though I don’t know why you’d ever need outlets up there ..) I photoshopped them out for these Christmas photos .. I was SO glad to get rid of that eye sore!
That’s it for today π Hopefully these small updates are ok! While we work on the floors and painting – it takes forever (at least it has for us!) So while I don’t have a big reveal, I want to keep you updated! Once we get the floors and walls done we’ll start having bigger, prettier reveals.
I hope you have a great week!!

I love the small updates!! It's nice to see how long big projects like this take. I know I'm slow on projects (several months into a furniture restoration project because we work full time) so thanks for the real-time updates! Love how it's coming along:) I bet it feels SO CLEAN with all that fresh paint and sanded floors!
