I’m so excited to reveal our son’s nursery!! We’ve been working on it behind the scenes for the FrogTape Paintover Challenge. 15 designers were tasked with making over a room using FrogTape and $500. There’s also five different trends, Natural Beauty, Fun & Fearless, Place of Zen, Bohemian Zen, and Rich at Heart. We selected Place of Zen! See all the details for the challenge HERE.

Here’s a few before images of when we moved into our home.
This room gets the best light, I love the windows in this space!
Our main project for the space was creating a wall pattern with strips of FrogTape. I painted on the outer edge of the of the tape – this gives it structure from the crisp inner line, but also a hand painted look for the hand drawn exterior line. Full tutorial to come!
I love the hand drawn look!
Painter’s tape is our secret weapon for projects. We use it for EVERYTHING! I was very impressed with the crisp lines FrogTape produced and the stickiness. We used the original, but there is also a delicate version.
Looking for frames, I didn’t find anything that I liked for the space under $100, so that was definitely out of the budget! I LOVE how our DIY frames turned out. We used left over birch plywood and clear plexiglass from another project. Tutorial to come!
We were able to use a lot of things from our first son’s nursery. Like this chair we refurbished and turned into a rocking chair.
We created a built in below the smaller window and I love how it turned out!
It’s tricky working around the posts in our house, but painting it white helps to blend in, while the toys and book stand out!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to stay tuned for more updates. For more information on the FrogTape Paintover Challenge, click HERE!

Would love to see a tutorial on the painting around the tape. This definitely looks like it took a great deal of patience. But an awesome effect.
Sarah Dorsey says
Thank you! Will post a tutorial soon 🙂 It actually wasn’t too bad (even with two little ones!)

Genius use of the tape! I’m just so in love with every element in his room. And the light that comes in couldn’t be any more perfect!

I have been looking everywhere for Roman shades like those! Would you mind sharing where you got them from? And are they blackout?
Thanks so much! Your son’s room is the cutest!
Sarah Dorsey says
They are from Overstock 🙂 Mine aren’t blackout, but I did add a liner to my other son’s room https://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Arlo-Blinds-Cordless-Lift-Whitewash-Bamboo-Roman-Shade/20956040/product.html?AID=13516709&PID=4441350&SID=.MTA2ODg4LTA.2b68ca10-c0d3-11ea-a022-4b923c23f830&cjevent=65e4621397751c3db26413d7c9000317f7eccbd754e012203&entrytrigger=noshow&exittrigger=noshow&fp=F&utm_medium=affiliates&utm_source=cj

I just love everything about this room! I recently purchased the crib and love the simplicity of it, but I noticed that the warning labels seem to be “stamped” into both wood rails of the crib that’s outside-facing vs. the stickers you normally get. I don’t see those labels in your pictures and was wondering, did yours have the labels stamped on and if so, how on earth did you get rid of them? I love the crib but the warning labels in the black ink are so distracting….please help!
Sarah Dorsey says
Thank you! I love the crib too. I removed the labels with a plastic razor blade knife from Amazon. Link is saved in my instagram highlights if you’re interested 🙂
