Does anyone have a good resource for used or inexpensive children’s books? I haven’t really looked at thrift stores, but I’m guessing that would be a good start. Any other places!?
Please pin from original source, here, thanks!
I love smoothies – I typically have two a day .. it’s an easy way to get your veggies (like eating an entire salad, but it tastes sweet!) Someday I’ll have to post my favorite combinations, but I always add the juice of a whole lemon (or any citrus) – it helps add flavor and enhance the brightness – I also find that it reduces the amount of fruit needed, so you can up the veggies (I typically just do spinach, but I should change it up to vary nutrients)
This recipe looks yummy from the Minimalist Baker

Weekend vibes! I’d love to have a porch like this!

West Elm is having a great sale!! 20% off everything, including mark downs with the code FFSALE Check out the sale section here!
The sconces we got for the guest room are on sale again! Making them just $48! The matte black finish looks even better in person!
This sofa looks so cozy! Starting at just $720!
Love the subtle details on this cardigan If you don’t own this super soft fleece moto jacket, you should! It’s my go to jacket now, I love how comfy and tailored it is!
This would be a cute desk chair!
Be sure to stop back on Monday, for an update on our lower bathroom renovation!

yard sales are way better than thrift stores for children's books i find… goodwill puts their price tags on them which can't be removed easily. i love to get books at yard sales for myself as well!
Sarah says
I really haven't been to yard sales – I need to!! Do you just check CL?
Unknown says
CL has a section for "garage sales" in the For Sale section AND you can type distance from your zip. Hit or miss. Antique malls often have these as props, too. I would also check the public library, sometimes they have a Friends of… and they sell books for $.25.

Lucy's on 26 is great for kids stuff period. They only accept the nicest stuff on consignment. Also, check out Books in the Barn at Grape Creek Farm. She gives away book and donuts to kids about once a month.
Sarah says
Thanks for the tip! I'll have to check Lucy's out!

I usually pick up board books at TJ Maxx and Home Goods in the kids section while I'm there. A lot of my friends rotate through books from the library, but my daughter likes to chew on them while I read so we'll have to wait a while for that.
Sarah says
I'll have to look at TJ Maxx/Home Goods – thanks!!

Try adding frozen riced cauliflower to your smoothie. I swear it works. I thought it was weird at first but you really can't taste it.
Sarah says
I bet that would be good!! I have some in my freezer!

Carrots are a great addition, I was never a fan of juiced carrots, way too sweet, but they are super with almond butter, dash of pumpkin spice and banana!
Sarah says
Mmm sounds good!! 🙂

Look for mom 2 mom sales – sometimes people sell books.
Sarah says
Good idea, I haven't checked there!

Look at publicsurplus.com for books. I know a local NoVA school system just did a big purge and I got over 100 kids books (from board books to 'i can read!' books), for $15 and in pretty good shape.
Sarah says
Good deal! I'll have to check it out, thanks!

Local libraries have used book sales and you can find some great books for super cheap. Additionally, used book stores can be pretty reasonable as well and their books are typically in good condition, just a little older. Freecycle and craig's list might have books listed too, but they'd probably be in big boxes.
Sarah says
I'm planning some built ins too, so lots of books might be a good idea, thanks!!

I second library sales! My library has a huge yearly used book sale put on by the Friends of the Library group. It is where I have purchased 99% of my kids' books.
Sarah says
I never thought about the library, that's a great idea, thanks!
