One of my favorite things to do is browse the clearance section of stores. Since we’re moving soon, I’ve basically cut off my home decor buying. So maybe I can live vicariously through you??
Here are a few of my recent clearance favorites:
1. Navy and peach polka dot pillow from Anthropologie. $39.95.
2. Metallic polka dot napkins from Anthropologie. Set of four for $4.95 (only 12×12, but still super cute! and you can’t beat the price!)
3. Tassel blanket from West Elm. $29.99, add customization for $7 additional
4. Tassel hand towel from West Elm. $7.99-$10, add customization for $7 additional
5. Small Black pendant from West Elm. $6.99. are you kidding me?? SUCH a great price!!
I’ll be sharing our painted rug on Monday AND an awesome giveaway that I’m participating in!! Make sure to stop back to check out our rug and for info on entering the giveaway!!
Hope you have a GREAT weekend!!

You are speaking to me. That's how I shop most of the time or it's from a thrift store. Love that west elm towel. xo Kristin

Oh I love the anthro navy and peach pillow! It so fun yet chic all at the same time. Would be perfect in a lil girl's room! Isn't it when we say we are going to hold off on buying anything that we always find the best stuff!? 😉 Jesse @ Scout & Nimble

I tried to order those pendent lights from West Elm, I love them! It said they are on back order until Dec. 2013. Bummer!
Sarah says
Bummer, at that price, something had to go wrong!! They are so great and the price can't be beat!!

Sarah, I just purchased an old wood desk that I am hoping to turn into a desk for my sewing machine, crafts, etc. I want to refinish it, how do you suggest i go about this? Sanding of course to take off the old finish. but what primer and paint do you usually use as well as finish?
Sarah says
Hi April, I like to sand at least until I get the gloss off, more on areas that get more wear like the top. My new favorite primer is Zinnser cover stain. It adheres very well to glossy surfaces and covers well. It is oil based, so stinky and clean-up requires mineral spirits instead of water (or use a throw away cheap brush). I then like to use sherwin williams pro classic (water based hard enamel finish), or you can use most any paint and then finish with a few coats of polyurethane for durability. Hope this helps! 🙂

I totally bought those foiled dot napkins in the orange/pink shades! I am obsessed with them! And, we found that random pendant shade at a West Elm store months ago, so I bought it and wrapped a pendant cord in hot pink yarn and hung them together it in my daughter's room! Great sale picks!!

Fun! Those napkins are too cute!! Love them! 🙂
