Yesterday I primed the shelving unit that we built over the weekend. I took it apart since we’ll be assembling it upstairs (it’s too big to make it around the tight corners of our stairs). Taking it a part by myself was … lets say interesting. Luckily I’m ok and the shelving unit is ok and we didn’t have any major accidents! But now it is all primed and ready for paint!
To save money (and since I have a lot of left over paint) I’ll be using paint that I already have on hand.
In addition to the photo above, we also have the statement pendant (sw rivulet) and the turquoise ottoman in the room.
So what’s your vote? Cast it in the comments or the poll in the right side bar!

I like the chartreuse. 🙂

There is a lot of colour going on already (at least it looks that way in photos) so I would vote for Greige to balance it out and to allow you to add smaller splashes of colour on the actual shelves. But I do love Overjoy as well!

I vote for the overjoy yellow. Imo the other colors are already in there too often so the yellow would be something new without throwing the color scheme off.
Love your home by the way!

I'm torn between the coral and the sw rivulet 🙂
Candice Price Designs says
Definitely the sw ardent coral! For a pop more of the warm color in seating area…good feng shui 😉
Cassie @ Primitive & Proper says
i vote mint- i think there is a lot of color, too, and this adds color but not as bold. 🙂

I chose the greige because to me it felt like there was already a lot of color and I thought it would blend in more and then you could use pops of color in the styling of the shelves. If I were to pick a "color" I would probably pick the coral and then use less color in the styling.

Custom Greige or SW Ardent Coral!
janet @ ordinary mom says
custom greige or overjoy.

I like the overjoy and the coral!

My first vote is for the chartreuse. I like the current balance of colors in the room. Second would be the SW rivulet. Looks like it would nicely balance the ottoman color.

Custom greige

Coral!!!!

i guess my answer depends on if you want it to stand out or be in the background. greige to be a good background piece to your books and accessories, or the chartreuse to stand out!

I like Overjoy. There doesn't seem to be much yellow in the room so i don't think it would be too bright. second choice–the chartreuse.
Julia Konya says
I love the mint but all the colors are so pretty and I'm sure would look wonderful too.
Jess says
Based on all the other colors you have in there, coral!
Shannon says
I like white or custom greige. You will want to add color to the shelf so, I'd keep it neutral
LisaW says
Great colours to choose from…any one of them would look fab. I picked the custom mix chartreuse just add a different pop.
Elizabeth @ The Little Black Door says
I love overjoy. But since your chair is a similar shade and it will be right next to it, I go for the coral.
Lindsay Z says
How about a REALLY dark (almost black) teal? I guess I always like some surprise contrast…
Kellie says
I'd say the coral or chartreuse. Could we have the info on the custom colors? Would love to get some samples made of them to see if they'd work in my house.
Sarah says
Hi Kellie! The custom colors would be mixed from paint that I already have (the griege would be a mix of sw big chill and sw anew gray, and a few others). I won't be mixing all of them, but I'll let you know about the one I choose 🙂
