Hi! I am Sarah! I’m an Interior Designer, DIYer, Graphic Designer, Blogger, wife to the most amazing husband, mom to our son and puppy mom to Annabelle and Charlotte! I have a background in both Fine Arts and Interior Design.
We are both originally from Maryland. Married after college, we’ve moved around the country for David’s work. Living in rentals in Tennessee, California, Ohio an Connecticut. Tired of moving, we’re currently, renovating our 1979 post and beam home in Maryland. Filling it with lots of love, hardwork and DIY projects! So glad that you’re here, thanks for following along!
This blog is a place for us to share our home and DIY adventures – trying to make a house our home, by getting our hands dirty and creating spaces that make us smile 🙂 Together
with my crazy/grand ideas and David’s creativity and ability to figure
them out, we spend a lot of our weekends (and some week days) adding personalization to our home.I believe that with a little creativity, time and effort, you don’t need a lot of money to make your home look fabulous!

Hi Sarah! Your blog is very inspiring! I am in love with the yellow and white lamp shades you have in the master bedroom on the dressers. I was hoping you could help me figure out the name of that pattern, or something similar. I'm looking for a fabric similar to that in the same yellow/mustard and ivory color to make pillow covers for the couch. Thanks!
-Heather
Sarah says
Hi Heather! Thank you so much! The lampshades are from Target. I believe the print is Target exclusive, but they do have it in draperies, table clothes, and shower curtains (I don't think in the yellow though) You may want to check out spoonflower.com, they have a great selection!
Mackenzie Maas says
What kind of dog do you have? Where did you get your couch from?
Sarah says
Hi Mackenzie! Annabelle is a Beagle/Jack Russell Mix and the sofa is the Karlstad from Ikea 🙂

Hey Sarah. Just came over to your blog from Brooklyn Limestone! I've actually been on before because someone in your family told my father-in-law you were blogging when he mantioned that I was. We live in Frederick!
Sarah says
What a small world! Nice to "meet" you! We hope to move back to the Frederick area in the future!

Hey Sarah!
I love your style and have been reading your blog for a while! I guess i never really read your about section or noticed the detail until your post today. I actually work at the GWU in DC and grew up in Hagerstown, MD. My husband and I currently live in Arlington, va but are actually looking to move to Frederick to be closer to family and to have a place we can actually afford…the city is expensive! Small world!
Sarah says
Hi Maggie! What a small world! Also, I went to High School in Hagerstown ha! Frederick is nice because it is close to DC, but affordable!
Windows of Vienna says
Your blog is exactly what I was looking for. I love DIY projects and would like to do more with furniture. Thanks for sharing your great ideas.

Came across your blog on Pinterest (tufted headboard), and saw a few posts with Frederick, MD in them. I'm from Hagerstown. Beautiful blog and love your designs!
Sarah says
Thank you so much! 🙂 I grew up going to Hagerstown often!

Hi Sarah!
I am from Ottawa, ON – Canada. I came across your blog on Pinterest and I am absolutely IN LOVE with all of your projects. Your sense of style is very inspiring – so much so that my boyfriend and I are attempting our first DIY together this weekend by making our own headboard…. wish us luck!! I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to post all the detailed pictures and instructions, you make it easy to follow along and you've inspired me to do some DIY's I never would have otherwise attempted. Thank you, you're awesome!! 🙂
Sarah says
Hi Melanie! Thanks so much, you are so sweet! I love hearing that my instructions are easy to follow! (it keeps me encouraged to keep doing it!)
Michelle says
Came across your page through Pinterest! Totally inspired me to save money and personalize my apartment by fixing thing up instead of going out and buying the new expensive stuff. Have you ever made/created a full length mirror with like stained, thick wood around it? I saw something like that on the internet and really want to try it.
Sarah says
Hi Michelle, Thanks so much for stopping by! I haven't tried framing out a mirror yet, but I'm sure there is lots of inspiration on Pinterest 😉

Came upon your blog via the herringbone table on pinterest. Great idea and your home is so pretty. I'm on the central coast too! SB! I'm adding your blog to my reader for sure!
Sarah says
Hi Jennifer! Thanks so much!! We love Santa Barbara, SO pretty there!!
Camilla @ Something Is Done says
Hi Sarah! Love your blog and all the DIY projects! The hubs and I just moved AWAY from the Central Coast a couple years ago (now we're in Orange County). Oh how I miss Pismo Beach…always empty, always beautiful. We bought a house down here and are fixing it up and love your DIY tutorials. I'm not an interior designer but we have a humble little blog where we share our home renovating adventures =). Ok, now I'm going to go through all your projects for inspiration!
Sarah says
Hi Camilla! Thank you so much!! 🙂 We LOVE Pismo, definitely the prettiest place I've lived! I'll be sure to stop by your blog too! 🙂

Hi Sarah! Love your driftwood table & spent an hour looking thru your blog. You & your hubs are talented… The sort of talent I appreciate in young couples creating their own space. WOW! I'm sorry to read you left Pismo Beach. I live in Arroyo Grande, CA, your town next-door. Having lived here since my Cal-Poly (college) days, I've raised two daughters (neither live in this area) & find myself never wanting to leave my Central Coast home. Question: do you still own your Pismo home? If so, is it a rental or AirBnB? We have lots of guests & would love to rent your place if possible. Will you ever move back to the Central Coast?
Sarah says
Thanks Christine! We don't own our Pismo Beach home – it was a rental. We'd love to come back to the central coast some day, no plans yet though 🙂 Thanks for reading!
