I am SO excited to participate in the One Room Challenge this spring! It’s the perfect way to get motivated to finish a room (in just 6 short weeks)! I participated last fall, renovating part of our walk out basement into a TV/lounge area, see the final post here.
This time around, I’m so excited to be a featured designer! David and I will be working on our main living space, which includes our living room, dining room, and stairs up (hopefully we didn’t bite off too much!) It will be so nice to have the main living area of our house complete. Since we’ve moved in, it’s been a mix of thrifted finds, hand me downs and definitely never felt finished (also, it will be nice to have proper lighting in the space so we can see past 6 pm!)
Here’s what I have envisioned for the space.
We’ll be adding windows and replacing the front door, adding custom and functional built ins, diy coffee table, replacing the stair treads, and adding a slat railing at the stairs.

BEFORE
A few photos from when we just moved in. Since then, we’ve painted, refinished the floors, replaced the railing and renovated the kitchen
The far space is the dining room, I’ve always hated how dark it is here, so we’re planning to add windows!
And a few from just the other day …
Ahh now you see why I’m so desperate to finish this space (it needs some serious help!) We need a place to store toys and a dining room table (We sold ours in January) We’ve got LOTS to do, but we got this!
Be sure to check out what all the featured designers are up to this week! And if you want an extra push to finish a space in your home, be sure to sign up as a guest participant on Thursday! Come back next Wednesday to see what we’ve gotten done!

So excited to see the transformation and to see you will be a featured designer! I’ve been following you for what feels like forever and I actually forgot about those vaulted ceilings and loft areas you have. We have a similar set up and I’m struggling with our living area – we just plopped down our old furniture when we moved in and never looked back. Cannot wait to steal inspiration from you 😉 😉

Of course I can not wait to see your room finished! It is totally my style and I should have stuck to what I do best but I decided to strike out of my comfort zone….rethinking now:)
