Recently I’ve been wanting to make a few updates to our bedroom. I still like it, but would like to change a few things to bump up the contrast. I plan to finish the office area first, but I wanted to get my ideas on a mood board while I’m thinking about it.
Here’s what I was thinking this morning as I was getting ready.
sources | euro pillows | draperies | print | gold starburst | parsons table image | fabric 1. 2. 3. |
I plan to finish updating the window wall (where the desk was) with a table and the ottomans as well as new draperies.
Add some new fabric to for more contrast. I’m thinking some black accents and maybe adding a soft turquoise or bright coral to the mix.
I also want to add a bit more depth by adding some gold into the art and accessories.
and that’s where I am right now 🙂 I quickly put this board together this morning so it may change a good bit, but so far I am liking the direction!
This weekend I plan on taking the Eames chairs to the upholster for a quote, fingers crossed they will be done soon! I also have a few projects in the garage, hopefully we will get a lot done this weekend 🙂
Happy Friday friends! Hope you have a great weekend!

I love this. Did you find drapes already? I love the idea of white drapes with a pretty trim for our bedroom too, but haven't found anything I love yet. Any resources would be so appreciated.

Oh, and love that you incorporated Lara Casey's new art. That is hers, right?
Sarah says
Yes! and I also just added the link above to Southern Weddings shop. I picked up white Lenda draperies at Ikea for $20, now I just have to find the trim 🙂

OMG, I love that gold starburst. I actually put it on my Christmas list (http://cuckoo4design.blogspot.com/2012/12/my-christmas-list.html) but didn't get it 🙁 I might have to DIY one after all. Love your ideas! And I'm adding more gold too. Never thought that I would say that!
Did you see the beautiful new coral stuff they have at Target?
Sarah says
How funny! The starburst statue is pretty amazing and probably wouldn't be a hard diy 🙂 Yes, I love Target's spring products, the coral, black and turquoise line is amazing!

The reason I started following your blog was your bedroom! I think pinterest led me here. Anyway, I am going to re-do my bedroom this year so I am always looking for inspiration. Mine is too dark. Walls are a golden wheat color that I painted but never really liked at all! With the carpeting that we can't change right now it is just plain DRAB! I love how bright yours is and I'm sure the new changes will be fab!!

Thanks Sarah! I'm looking forward to adding a little more contrast! 🙂
