I’m working on about 3 different projects right now – I keep bouncing from project to project! So while I finish those up, I’m sharing a little more about us!
3 years ago, this week, we adopted Annabelle, so I thought this would be the perfect time to share a little more about her!
David and I were casually browsing on Petfinder for a dog and after we saw the above photos we were sold! How could you say no to this face?? We contacted her foster mom and arranged to meet her a few days later at an adoption event. It was love at first sight!
3 years later (moving twice and living in three states (TN, CA, and OH) (almost … in a few weeks) we couldn’t imagine our family without her!
Here’s Annabelle’s story … she was dropped on the side of the road at 4 weeks with her brother and was thankfully picked up by a good samaritan and brought to Almost Home – a foster organization that takes pets from shelters and places them in foster homes while waiting for their forever homes.
just after we adopted annabelle – her foster mom said that she loved her crate, we got her one right away and she LOVED it!! I think only puppies can sleep like this 🙂 |

Her brother was adopted at 8 weeks and we adopted Annabelle at 10 weeks. We are still in contact with her foster mom through email and photo updates!
Adopting through Almost Home was such a great experience for us – everyone was so great to work with and you can tell that they truly care about the animals.

Annabelle loves life, she is the happiest dog I know (I challenge anyone to find a happier dog :), and she puts a smile on our faces every day.
We aren’t sure of her exact mix, but we think Beagle, long hair Jack Russell Terrier. Or as I like to say, Jack Reagle.
I’m definitely not opposed to responsible breeding, but we had such a
great experience adopting, I’d do it again and again! There are so
many great pets waiting for their forever home, if you’re looking to add to your family, check out Petfinder and if you are in East Tennessee, take a look at Almost Home!

You don't even know how much I loved this post Sarah. This is exactly what I have been preaching to everyone but most people always choose to buy and we are so close to the Amish puppy mills which are horrible and there is no responsible breeding going on. Why do people insist on buying a dog when there are so many great animals waiting for a home. My family even always adopted older pets which were always the prefect pet.
At first you scared me with the headline and I thought something was wrong. I've heard too many sad stories in the past two weeks.
Annabelle is just too cute!

We adopted our puppy dog and also couldn't imagine our family without his sweet face! Adoption is definitely the way to go and it is so rewarding. We're from TN, too… born and raised 🙂

So funny because I was going to say she looked like a jack/beagle blend! I have a beagle and a basset beagle and both so sweet. And I am so emotional these days that I was crying reading her story- who abandons puppies like that??? She is so adorable and she was meant for you.

Oh, what a lovely story. We have a rescue dog that we love and just adopted out a foster dog we looked after over the summer. So hard to send her on to her forever home but I am sure she will have a happy ending too. I think rescue dogs are the best.

It's always obvious how much you and David adore her. She really does have the sweetest little doggy face. And those puppy pics – you're right, how could you NOT adopt her?!

She's gorgeous. I completely agree with adopting. I adopted my Charlie 2.5years ago when he was just 8weeks old. It has been the best decision of my life! Lisa xo

Very sweet, Sarah! I hear ya on the juggling a few too many projects at the moment. If I could just stick to one and get it done! 🙂
Kelly @ View Along the Way says
Aww I love her! I'd totally squeeze and cuddle her happy lil face off. 🙂

She looks just like my zoey as a puppy (she's a beagle and something) who was also a rescue. I love the pictures of her chasing the ball. So cute!
Lindsay at Life of Splendor says
Oh I love her!!!! I'm such a dog person and love hearing about others 🙂 She's a cutie. I seriously can't understand though why puppies like her get abandoned like that. It breaks my heart.
