A few weeks ago I posted about the proposed color palette of the living room
and I’ve been planning lots of projects for the space … but since we have some very important guests aka David’s parents coming in June, I think I’ll have to put them on hold to turn our guest room from storage/catch all to bedroom
but I’ve started one and I can’t resist … last weekend I bought the ikea rug – yes its been done, but I can’t resist – these projects turned out fabulous and I can’t wait to try one!

The last one is a painted floor … (which I would LOVE to try someday …. once we have our own home)
I think I am leaning towards a quatrefoil design – I like how the shape refers to the fabric I selected for the draperies

Last night I added some rug options to my sketch up model …
I’m sure that you have noticed the icky carpet that covers the majority of our rental – while I am not the biggest fan of carpet on carpet, it really needs some color/pattern to break up the space
I am going to take a short break from the living room to work on the guest bedroom – but after I finish this project!

That drapery fabric is amazing! Where do you usually source your fabrics?

Thanks! I typically purchase from fabric.com if I can find it there, they seem to have the best prices, and you can find coupon codes too! I believe this was $20/yd.

Great idea – I think the carpet on carpet will look nice here since you're layering some colour and pattern and helping to define the space. Looking forward to see what you have planned for the guest room too!

Thanks Amelia! I really like how it grounds the space too! I am excited to get started on it!
