This weekend we “finished” our new shelving unit! We decided to go with a custom mixed light minty blue. I really enjoyed seeing the poll and reading all of your comments. It helped me sort out the pros and cons of each color and what would work best in the space! Coral was also popular, but since it is tall and in the middle of the room, I wanted something that would blend in a little more. But maybe coral for the round table that will go next to it…
It’s a little unsteady and leans a little so we still need to add supports on the bottom to make it more secure (don’t worry we cleared everything off for now, to let the paint cure and to not put any more weight on it till we add the supports :).
I’ll give a full tutorial a little later this week once we finish the supports, but for now, enjoy a few pictures!

Great way to separate the space without closing it off, looks fantastic! My living, dining room and kitchen are all one large space and I have been contemplating something similar, to add a little more definition. Love the color you choose!
Sarah says
Thanks Jeanna! I agree, a great way to divide spaces, get storage and have it still feel open! Would probably look great in your space!

This is so lovely! I love how you always have fresh flowers (at least in your photos) 🙂
Sarah says
Thanks Charlotte! We don't always have fresh flowers, but I always get them at Trader Joes because the prices are so affordable! 🙂
Caitlin @ Desert Domicile says
If you're not taking those shelves with you when you move, I know a good home they could go to 😉 Kidding…kind of…
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the tutorial and more of the B sneak peek!
Sarah says
We're not planning on taking them with us so you're first in line if you want them 🙂 I'll probably make a list of what we're planning to sell in about a month or so.
Angie says
So good! Looking forward to the details!

Thanks Angie! 🙂

Came out great! Love your color choice. Funny… I saw some of those little brass candle holders at Salvation Army the other day and almost snagged them. They were all the same height though so not quite as interesting.
Sarah says
I love the little brass candle holders too! Bummer that yours were the same height … maybe you could put some on books to make them different heights? Might be worth it if they were a good price! 🙂
Angelina- JoJo & Eloise says

Sarah says
Thanks Angelina! My favorite part too!! (and of COURSE the storage too!) 🙂
